§ 00 Index

Four ways of working, not four products.

Almost nobody arrives knowing which one is theirs. This page exists so that you do not have to guess.

A dental website usually lists twenty services, because listing is easier than explaining. I have four entries, and even those are not borders. Any serious course of treatment passes through several of them, in different orders.

What separates them is not the technique but the question they start from. One deals with shape, one with material and with what shows, one with the whole set once it has lost its balance, and one with what happens when a root is gone altogether.

Read them as four points of entry. Which one fits you gets decided at the first visit anyway, from what can be seen, not from what you ticked beforehand.

§ 01 The four

The codes T-01 through T-04 are the same everywhere on this site, so you can follow one treatment from page to page.

Which of these sounds like you?

T-01

Smile design

For when your complaint is about how it looks but you cannot say exactly what is wrong. Here it gets drawn first and worn as a trial before anything definitive is made.

T-02

Aesthetic & prosthetic dentistry

For worn or chipped teeth and old work that now shows. The part where an agreed shape becomes ceramic, with everything that involves about colour and about how much tooth is kept.

T-03

Full mouth rehabilitation

For when several restorations have failed in a row, or your bite no longer seems to rest anywhere. The whole set is rebuilt, in stages, with a long trial before anything is final.

T-04

Implant prosthetics

For when a tooth is missing entirely, or the whole arch. The part above the screw: the shape, the way it emerges from the gum, and how it can be cleaned years from now.

§ 02 Method

What happens the same way in all four

Measurement comes first. Shade is taken with the tab against the tooth under one light, because nobody carries a colour accurately from one visit to the next. Shape is scanned. The bite is checked, even when the treatment appears to be about a single tooth.

A trial comes before anything definitive. A mock-up, a temporary, or an unbonded try-in, depending on the scale. That stage can be erased, which is exactly why I never skip it.

The limits get said out loud. Each of the four pages carries a section about what that treatment does not fix. Those were the sections I wrote first.

§ 03 Without

What these pages do not carry

  • Prices. A serious plan can change twice between the first visit and the decision, so a figure published before meeting you would be a number without its context. I go through it with you once the plan is settled, itemised, in writing.
  • Promises about longevity. I can tell you what shortens the life of a restoration and what extends it. A number of years is not something I could honestly hold.
  • Comparisons with other dentists. I have nothing to say about their work and no way of knowing.
  • Before and after photographs without signed consent. When cases do appear here, they will be here because the patient signed for them, row by row.
